Transforming a Managed IT start-up into an industry standout with innovative branding and state-of-the-art digital solutions.

The Challenge

Volafotsy’s primary goal was to carve out a unique identity in the crowded Managed IT market, competing with both large corporations and smaller competitors. They needed a fresh, compelling brand and an engaging online presence to attract high-worth clientele and establish a foundation for steady growth and market penetration.

Strategy & Discovery

To address Volafotsy’s challenge, we aimed to stand out in a very crowded market by taking inspiration from outside the IT industry to bring in fresh and modern approaches. The project began with competitor analysis, leveraging Dan’s (Volafotsy’s director) extensive industry knowledge. We identified key pain points and aimed to create high-converting proposal letters and a recognisable logo and colour palette. Regular meetings ensured alignment with the client’s vision.

Branding

The Volafotsy logo, crafted on a precise grid, embodies a clean, future-proof design. Inspired by leading design firms such as DixonBaxi and Pentagram, the logo is minimalist yet bold, symbolising clarity and innovation. A consistent iconography was developed, using the logo icon throughout the brand to emphasise key elements. The colour palette was designed to be memorable and distinctive, ensuring Volafotsy stands out in the Managed IT sector. Custom Lottie file animations were created in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects to visualise different industry needs and solutions.

UX/UI

Our main priorities for the user experience were to intrigue users while keeping vital information accessible with minimal clicks. We designed a seamless and intuitive interface using a clear grid, CSS grid-balanced typography, and industry best practices. Custom iconography and Lottie files were created to visualise different industry needs and solutions.

Web Design

We incorporated Lottie files animation, designed in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects, along with a custom loading animation to add unique visual interest. These elements were intended to hold attention and guide users through the services and solutions Volafotsy offers. The design process was meticulously executed in Figma with multiple client check-ins to ensure consistency.

Prototyping

Figma was instrumental in the design process, allowing us to share live links and make rapid adjustments. Although the website was designed statically due to tight deadlines, the collaboration with Volafotsy was enhanced through frequent meetings and constant communication.

Responsive Design

We used consistent typography and scalable icons to ensure a balanced and engaging user experience across devices. Our 12-column grid allowed for easy adaptation of elements on different screen sizes, maintaining a consistent visual storytelling and user journey.

•Wireframing: Helped rapidly create a site structure and hierarchy of text, aiding in storytelling and order of information.

•Responsive Design: Ensured a consistent user experience across all devices.

•Prototyping: Facilitated live, rapid adjustments and client collaboration.

•Web Copy: Written by the client, leveraging their industry expertise.

•UX Design: Optimised usability with a shallow site map and clear CTAs to meet KPIs.

•UI Design: Used the bento box method, colour-coding, and typographical emphasis to ensure easy information ingestion.

•Web Development: Built on WordPress/Elementor, with a lightweight backend to ensure speed.

Final Details

The project resulted in an extremely happy client, delivered ahead of schedule. The new website significantly scaled Volafotsy’s business, enhancing their web presence and competitive edge, leading to a high conversion rate on bids and proposals.
